.28.2009  Sprintbit Software updates

We have fixed and improved audio and video playback for the following programs:
Sprintbit Playlist Manager, Sprintbit Media Player and Home Multimedia Library.

Sprintbit Media Player version 1.1 has two new features:
 DVD Player
 Radio Stations Player & Database

Because lately, only three of our programs mentioned above are being constantly updated, many users asking
us about the status of the rest of our programs, so at this moment the status is as follows:

Current version of Visual Lottery Analyser is in good shape, Vista ready and working with no problems.
Currently we are working on version 3.0 which will include changes like:
New SDF databases instead of MDB files, more wizards and interface updates.
Release of new version is planned on last quarter of this year

Current version of Sprintbit File Manager is also in good shape, Vista ready and is working with no big problems.
The software was build with use of many thirty party components. Sometimes that components are causing some minor
problems  and we are unable to fix it. Some of developers of those components either went out of business or abandoned
 making new versions.
Currently we are working on a brand version 4.0 which will include a lot of changes.
We are getting rid of thirty party components and new File Manager will be only our code written
in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Release of new version is planned on last quarter of this year

Current version of File Audio Processor works only on Windows XP and older systems!
The software also was build using many thirty party components. That components are not compatible with Vista.
We have to write our own. Currently we are working on a brand version 5.0. We are getting rid of thirty party
components and new program will be only our code written in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
We do not have the timeline for new release yet. Probably in the next year.

CDDB Database feature and Internet Audio Playback is restored in today's releases for the following programs:
Sprintbit Playlist Manager, Sprintbit Media Player and Home Multimedia Library.

04.27.2009  Sprintbit Software updates

We have released today new maintenance versions of Sprintbit Playlist Manager, Sprintbit Media Player
and Home Multimedia Library.

In the past few weeks we have received many emails from our users stating that these programs did not play audio
files on some Windows XP machines. The problem was that we used a thirty party software from other developers
(MultimediaSoft) and theirs DLL's files did not registered correctly on users computers.

To solve audio playback problems, avoid any of such problems in the future and deliver the software that will meet
your expectations we have removed those thirty party components from our software.
By removing these components certain features in new versions are temporarily disabled:

CDDB Database
Audio Playback effects and equalizer
Selection of sound card, only your first, default sound card is available to use.
Internet radio stations playback

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. We will try to get these features back online ASAP.

We have worked very hard to write our own code to handle audio playback and we are glad to inform that all problems are seems to be gone now.

We encourage all users that were unable to play audio before to re-download our programs and try them again.
Current users do not need to download this update.

.15.2009  Sprintbit Software updates

Sprintbit Playlist Manager 6.1 and Sprintbit Media Player 1.1 new versions released.
We have made significant changes in new versions. As of today these programs can run only on the following
operating systems:

Windows Vista Home Basic
Windows Vista Home Premium
Windows Vista Business
Windows Vista Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP2
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 SP2
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition SP2
Microsoft Windows XP Embedded SP2

Unfortunately we cannot maintain back compatibility for older systems anymore. According to recent research
only a small percent of users still use Windows 98/ME or 2000. Making our programs compatible with oldest systems
caused too many problems and kept us from moving toward newest, better technologies.

To enhance our programs we have changed database system from old MDB to newer SQL Server (SDF) files.
New databases are more reliable, scalable and will give our programs better performance.
They have more capacity, each database can store up to 4GB of data, which can give you almost unlimited possibilities.
You will be able to store millions of entries in our programs databases.

While making those changes we have also fixed a number of small bugs.
We are encouraging everyone to download and install new versions.

For current users of Sprintbit Playlist Manager we provide a small tool that will move your data from old to new databases. Before installing new version make copies of your old .mdb files.
Please refer to help file for more information about where databases are located but they should be in
Your Documents\Sprintbit Software Databases\Sprintbit Playlist Manager folder.
After installing new version put old (.mdb) database files back into that folder
Please download Playlist Manager Migration tool from here and run it to copy data.
